I haven't done a week in photos for a long time here on my blog so I thought it would be nice to share with you all what I've been up to over the past two weeks. I traveled down to London over the Easter weekend for my sisters birthday. Whilst in London, I decided to take a trip to Shoreditch and central London in search for some things for my holiday which was a nice change from shopping in Birmingham or online. Luckily, I found a few bargain buys whilst on my search including a few vintage pieces from Beyond Retro. (blog post on my Shoreditch experience will be posted soon)

Once I was back in Birmingham, it was time for me to pick up my final printed dissertation and business plan for my course. Such an exciting/ nerve-racking time but I was really happy with the outcome once we picked it up from the printers. Me and my best friend then decided to celebrate finally printing and completing our dissertations with cocktails at The lost and Found.

How was your bank holiday weekend?

White Noise

One of my favourite trends for S/S 14 is all white. The trend was adopted by many on the S/S 14 catwalk including Ralph Lauren, Sass and Bide, Emilio Pucci and Roberto Calvalli. The trend has now began to hit high street stores. I feel this look can be worn day or night nonetheless, the white combined with a lace on a hot summer’s day will deliver for the perfect look for sophisticated day wear.

My high street favourites from this trend are;

Even though the weather in England is not quite the type for sandals (or even short for that matter), once the sun is shinning I think all these pieces will look gorgeous.

Whats your favorite item from this 'all white' SS/14 trend?

The Amazing Spider Man 2

Image taken from whatleydude.com

Not a lot of people know this but I am a big fan of the marvel movies. What can I say, i'm a sucker for action adventure, comedy and romance all in cinema screening. This week I went to see The Amazing Spider Man starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Now I’ve seen the Amazing Spiderman and I really enjoyed the new twist on the story line and I think Emma Stone is a great actor however, in this trilogy I felt it was a bit more ‘cheesy’ than the last one.

I think ‘comic book’ movies should have a small element of comically value as they are mostly targeted to an adult and child audience however, I think the balance between ‘comical’ and ‘serious’ is a little disjointed. Also there are various parts towards the film where you continuously feel like it is coming to an end which makes the film seem like it drags on a little bit (If you have watched the film, hopefully you will know what I’m talking about).

All in all, special effects are great but do not have the 'wow' factor. I would definitely give this a watch if you’re a marvels comic book fan, if not I’d maybe suggest something more action thrilling. My rating for this film is a 5 /10.

What are your views on the film?
